Safe and Sound Protocol
I am a certified Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) provider through Unyte Health. SSP is an evidence-informed listening intervention designed to support the nervous system and improve regulation, social engagement, and overall wellbeing. As Dr. Stephen Porges has created a listening system grounded in Polyvagal Theory. This program has been shown to help people feel calmer, safer, and more connected, with measurable improvements in stress response and social engagement.
SSP is unique in that it can be done independently of traditional talk therapy. Many people complete the program mostly on their own, with support as needed to guide and track progress. Using carefully filtered music delivered through headphones, SSP gently stimulates the nervous system, helping the body feel more relaxed and resilient over a series of sessions. People I have worked with have been able to reduce, if not eliminate using medications to manage severe mental health symptoms.
Results vary for each person, but research and clinical experience show consistent benefits, including improved attention, greater emotional regulation, and enhanced ability to engage with others. Sessions and support are paced to feel safe, and your experience can be integrated with other therapeutic work if desired.
SSP can be especially helpful for people who have experienced trauma, chronic stress, or difficulties with social engagement. It is gentle, non-invasive, and designed to help you build lasting regulation, flexibility, and connection in your daily life.
